Community Rail Day 2005 Bridlington Station

On 14th May 2005, Community Rail Partnerships organised the first Community Rail Day with 50% off fares and various events on participating Local Lines on the Northern Region.

Drew Hayley presents Amy Cleal with a family travel pass for winning a poster competition held locally, cheered on by The Barber shop Singers and David Walford the Local Rail Officer.

 

The Driffield Barber Shop Singers appeared at Bridlington Station Buffet and on the Concourse serenading Buffet customers and passengers. They were a great success and attracted great applause from everyone. The passengers numbers were well up on a normal Saturday and a friendly atmosphere covered the event. There were collections for the Charities 'Railway Children' and the 'RSPCA ' both at various stations along the line and on the trains, these were well supported with over £180 collected.
