With rail travel at a fifty+ year high, the future of the enviromental and very safe railway should be bright. Delays are at an all time low with the econommy relying on trains moving people and goods. Despite this there is a big funding problem to be addressed, who pays: the taxman or the traveller? Lack of investment going back years, is preventing the rail sector from keeping pace with the required expansion. Better track and rolling stock are urgently required but where will the rinvestment come from? With our roads getting more and more gridlocked we must inject more investment and soon rather than later, to expand rail services to assist in the countries economic growth, help the enviroment and improve safety.
